Question
I work for a boss who sometimes asks me about some of the people who want to work for him, or who are already working for him – he asks about their attitude and manners, how good they are and how qualified they are. Is it permissible for me to co-operate with him on this matter? Please advise us, may Allaah reward you with good.
Answer
Praise be to Allah.It is permissible for you to co-operate with him on the
matter, so long as you do your best to be certain of the information
that you are giving to him, and you avoid lying or cheating, because
if this is done truthfully and sincerely, it is counted as cooperating
in righteousness and piety, and as offering sincere advice to
a brother (naseehah). May Allaah help us all.
