What do you think of encouraging ordinary people to observe naafil fasts by organizing communal iftaars?
Answer
Praise be to Allah.I think that there is nothing wrong with it, but it is better not to do this, because the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them) did not do such a thing. If people can be encouraged to observe naafilah fasts through words, then this is sufficient and there is no need to do so through deeds.
