يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٞ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيۡطَٰنِ وَلِيّٗا
O dear father! I truly fear that you will be touched by a torment from the Most Beneficent, and become Satan’s companion ˹in Hell˺.”
Commentary
O father, I fear a punishment from the Merciful will afflict you if you die in your disbelief, then you will be a companion to him in punishment due to your befriending him”.
