Surah Az-Zukhruf — 43:45

وَسۡـَٔلۡ مَنۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رُّسُلِنَآ أَجَعَلۡنَا مِن دُونِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ءَالِهَةٗ يُعۡبَدُونَ
Ask ˹the followers of˺ the messengers that We already sent before you if We ˹ever˺ appointed ˹other˺ gods to be worshipped besides the Most Beneficent.
Commentary
O Messenger! Ask those messengers I sent before you: “Did Allah make deities that were to be worshipped instead of the Merciful?”
