وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ

And he did see that ˹angel˺ on the clear horizon,

Your companion had seen Gabriel in the form that he was created in the clear horizon of the sky.
